ECOWILL Activities

ECOWILL in the UK trained its first twelve ‘master trainers’ in July 2011 and these master trainers have since fun another two training courses to accredit a further 25 instructors.

Short-duration training courses began in the UK began in the autumn 2011 with training for private individuals. Take up of this training was relatively low, so ECOWILL in the UK is now progressing primarily by training professional drivers. In April 2012 ECOWILL trained 50 drivers of London’s iconic black taxis, who saw an average 22% reduction in fuel consumption between their ‘before’ and ‘after’ training circuits.  Further taxi driver training is confirmed in the UK for the summer and autumn 2012.  ECOWILL in the UK is also working with company car and van drivers and expects to have training confirmed for a further 800 drivers by October 2012.

In the UK we are also in discussion with a major police force which we hope will result in the project training police trainers later in 2012.
